The department of Extension Education came into existence with the establishment of Rajasthan College of Agriculture. Initially under-graduate classes began and in 1960, P.G. programme was started. While, Ph.D. programme by course work was started in the year 1985-86. At present the student intake capacity for M.Sc. and Ph.D. programme is five and three, respectively. Total 45 Ph.D. and 158 M.Sc. students have been produced by the department till now.

The department is well equipped and having all infrasfruture facilities including class rooms, P.G. labs, seminar and conference halls, computers, lap-top, printer, video-Camera, V.C.R., T.V. over head Projector, Television, Slide projector, Epidiascope, P.A. system, camera, L.C.D. etc. These facilities are used for teaching students and organising seminar, conferences, workshops, symposia and other university programmes.
