Admission


Rajasthan College of Agriculture

General Information

  1. Admission to B.Sc. Ag. and M.Sc. (Ag.) programme is done through a competitive examination (JET and Pre P.G. Test) for which application are to be submitted whenever requisitioned through a notification in news papers, circulars and displays on the notice boards. Admission to B.Sc. (Ag.) programme are also done on merit and on self financing basis as notified by the university.
  2. Normally, the academic session is from July to June having two semesters.
  3. Students whose cases of unfairmeans in the examinations are pending with the University can provisionally be admitted to the same class provided that, if the result committee imposes the penalty of canceling the present examination, the provisional admission will stand cancelled
  4. No student shall be entitled to join more than one programme of study concurrently.
  5. New admissions at the entrance level of any programme are done at the beginning of each academic session only.
  6. Admission cannot be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right.
  7. The Dean may refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason whatsoever.
  8. Applicants who suppress or give wrong information/facts or put forge signature of their parents in the application forms or attach false certificate will forfit their admission in addition to any other punishment, which may be awarded to them.
  9. Failures from other institutions shall not be allowed transfer.
  10. All admissions are made on the basis of merit of Joint Entrance Test.
  11. Physically handicapped candidates who apply under reserved quota shall be considered for the category only even if they are eligible for admission in general quota.
  12. The admission of the students who are placed on waiting and /or are nominated by any agency will be done on the promise that the students will be able to complete 75% of the attendance requirement otherwise the admission will be denied, no backlog will be carried out to the next examination and the students will have to pass the entrance test afresh to be eligible for admission

Admission Restrictions

  1. No candidate against whom a FIR has been lodged by University or College shall be eligible for admission as a regular candidate in the College.
  2. Any person, who has been convicted of a criminal offence or has been released on bail in connection with criminal offence and against whom the case is pending in a court of law, shall not be eligible for admission as a regular student in the College.
  3. Any candidate who has indulged in misbehavior with any teacher or with any authority of the University shall be debarred from seeking admission.

Admission of Foreign Students

  1. Foreign students are normally admitted under the category of ICAR nominee or through a bilateral arrangement with the University, if any.
  2. No self-financing foreign student will be given admission. They shall be supported either by Govt. of India, International Organization, their respective Government and approved by Govt. of India (ICAR, Department of Agriculture).
  3. Foreign students must have a valid passport and visa before they seek admission.
  4. They should also register with the Foreign Students Advisor of the University.
  5. They must themselves register with the Police (CID) within a fortnight of their arrival at the campus.
  6. All foreign students must get themselves medically checked by the nearest Civil Surgeon/Surgeon/Supdt. Of District Medical hospital at their own expenses and the certificate in a particular Performa available from the College be submitted before they can be admitted.
  7. All foreign students (fresh or returning from abroad) must get themselves screened for the AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) at their own cost and submit screening certificate from an authorized Medical Officer before they can be considered for admission to any class.
  8. If the student is found unfit due to any disease other than AIDS, he shall be declared temporarily unfit and can continue studies subject to University regulations. A student with confirmed AIDS disease will have to return to his country.

General Admission Procedure

  1. Admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is done through competitive entrance examination.
  2. Admission to Ph.D. programme will be given in the First Semester of the academic session.
  3. The Prospectus and application form for admission to Ph.D. programme can be obtained from notified office on payment of prescribed fee.
  4. The new applicants shall attach attested copies of the following certificates with the application form :
    i. Marksheet/Transcript card of the last qualifying examination.
    ii. Transfer Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
    iii. A certificate of character from the Head of the Institution last attended.
    iv. Other relevant documents necessary for claiming reservation, concessions, exemption, experience, etc. as required in the application form.
    v. Bonafide domicile certificate, Wards of employees in the State Government/State University/Central Government but posted in Rajasthan, shall have to produce a certificate from the Head of the Office/Institute to consider his/her domicile status.
    vi. Physical fitness certificate from Registered Medical Practitioner.
    vii. Employer’s certificate for wards of Government employees.
  5. The application received incomplete in any respect will not be considered.
  6. The admitted students will have to submit the original certificate/documents for verification on their joining the Institutions.
  7. Candidates if called for an interview will have to bear their own expenses.
  8. Admission of in-service candidate of this University will be done according to the existing rules available in the office.

Reservation and Concessions

There are seats reserved for SC, ST, Physically handicapped / disabled person and ICAR nominees in B.Sc. (Ag.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) programmes as per Government of Rajasthan policy. The details of these have been given in the respective application forms.

Admission of continuing students

  1. Students will be required to submit an application for admission to subsequent semester /class on or before schedule date..
  2. Students whose cases of unfair means in examination are pending with the university can provisionally be admitted to the same class provided that if the result committee impose the penalty of canceling more than the present examination, the provisional admission will stand cancelled.
  3. Migration of students from other universities in the middle of a programme at either U.G. or P.G. level is not permitted.
  4. The students admitted to a programme shall have to personally register in that programme at the college as per schedule notified.

Minimum Requirement for Admissions

  1. B.Sc. (Ag.) Part-I :
    The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in JET is that the candidate must have passed 12th of the 10+2 (Academic) scheme of examination with Agriculture / Science group of the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or an examination declared equivalent to it with prescribed percentage of marks mentioned in the admission notification.
  2. M.Sc. (Ag.)
    Admission to M.Sc. (Ag.) is done through a state level competitive Pre-Post Graduate (Ag.) Test. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in this test is that the candidate must have passed B.Sc.(Ag.) degree examination of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur or an examination declared equivalent to with 6.00/10.00 OGPA for general and 5.50/10.00 for SC/ST candidates.
  3. M.B.A. (Agri-Business)
    Residential : The candidate must fulfil the residential requirement of Rajasthan as prescribed by the Government of Rajasthan.
    Academic : Candidates with minimum qualification of Bachelor’s degree in agriculture & allied disciplines (Agricultural Engineering / Dairy Science / Dairy Technology / Food Science / Food Technology / Fisheries / Forestry / Home Science / Horticulture  /Veterinary Sciences ) from any Agricultural University or Institution recognized by the ICAR / AICTE with a minimum of 60 percent marks ( 55 percent for SC /ST / OBC ) are eligible for admission in MBA (Agribusiness) programme.
  4. Ph.D. (Course Work):
    Admission in Ph.D. programme is on merit cum interview basis. To be eligible a candidate must have minimum overall grade point average (OGPA) of 7.00 on 10.00 point scale or equivalent percentage of marks for general candidates and 6.50/10.00 for SC/ST Candidates at Mater’s degree level in the concerned subject.

Preparation of merit List

  1. B.Sc. (Ag.) Part-I:
    • A combined merit list for all the colleges will be prepared in order of merit for each category on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the JET.
    • From the merit list, the Central Admission Committee of JET in order of preference on availability of seats will assign the colleges. If the applicant refuses to join the college allotted to him, his/her admission may be cancelled.
    • For admission on merit basis, students having 75% marks at 10+2 examination are considered. For admission on self financing basis, students are admitted on merit basis at 10+2 examination.
  2. M.Sc. (Ag.)
    • The admissions to various programmes (subjects) will be done strictly on the basis of common merit list prepared for each category on the basis of marks obtained in Pre-P.G. Test.
    • Candidate eligible for direct admission will be admitted on the basis of the merit list prepared from marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
    • The admission to the subject will be done according to the priorities given by the candidates in the choice sheet strictly as per his/her merit.
    • A candidate will be considered for admission only in the choice of subjects mentioned in his/her application and according to his/her preference. His/her application will be rejected if seats in all his/her choice subjects are filled up even if vacant seats exist in other subjects.
    • If a student fails to report up to 7 days from the prescribed date, his/her admission will stand cancelled.
  3. MBA (Agribusiness)
    • Admission will be done on the basis of entrance examination through an admission committee taking into consideration merit and personal interview.
  4. Ph.D. (Course Work) :
    • Admissions are made through an Admission Committee on the basis of Merit and personal interview.
    • Candidates recommended by admission committee for provisional admission shall be asked to deposit fees by the date and time fixed for the purpose.

College of Diary & Food Science Technology

  • Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech. (D.T.) , B. Tech. (F.T.) & B.Tech (Bio Technology) shall have to appear in the Joint Entrance Test (JET). Under ICAR quota Candidates are not required to appear in the JET.
  • Academic year or 'Academic Session' is divided into two semesters providing for classroom teaching and examinations.
  • "Semester" is an academic term of normally 18-20 weeks including examinations
  • New/Fresh admission at the entrance level of the programme is done at the beginning of first semester of each academic session only.
  • A candidate as a matter of right cannot claim admission to any University programme.
  • No student of THIS UNIVERSITY shall be entitled to join more than one programme of studies concurrently anywhere.
  • Detention of a candidate due to shortage of attendance will not be treated as failure for the purpose of readmission to the college.
  • Failures from other institutions shall not be allowed transfer wherever RULES PERMIT SUCH TRANSFERS.
  • Applicants suppressing or giving wrong information or facts or forging signatures of parents or attaching false certificates shall forfeit admission in addition to any other punishment that may be awarded to them.
  • Admission committee may refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason whatsoever. However, in case a candidate receiving qualifying marks in pre-entry examination (TEST) is refused admission by the admission committee, it would only be after the candidate has been given a hearing by the admission committee. Decision of the committee shall be final.
  • Admissions are given strictly on the basis of the merit of the CANDIDATE in the Entrance Examination.
  • Number of students to be admitted in each class (PROGRAMME) shall be GOVERNED BY THE in-take capacity AS APPROVED BY THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL, University, however, reserves the right to increase or decrease in number without prior notice or to Admit lesser number of students than the intake capacity or not to fill the seats >

Admission Restrictions

Following candidates shall not be given admission in the University or its constituent's colleges even if they qualify for it:

  • A candidate against whom an FIR has been lodged by the University or any of the constituent colleges or by any other competent authority / officer of the university.
  • A candidate who has been convicted of criminal offense or has been released on bail in connection with a criminal offense and against whom a case is pending in a court of law.
  • A candidate who has indulged in mis-behavior with his teacher or with any authority of the University.

 

Admission Of Continuing Students

  • Students will be required to submit an application in the prescribed form the admission to subsequent semester / class of the programme on or before schedule date. The students who are to appear at the supplementary examination shall also submit their application in the prescribed form for provisional admission and registration to next higher class by the last date fixed for the purpose.
  • Students, whose cases of unfair means in the examination are pending with the University, can provisionally be admitted to the same class (wherever this provision exists) provided that if the results committee imposes the penalty of cancelling more then the present examination, the provisional admission will stand cancelled.
  • Migration of students from other Universities in the middle of a programme at either UG or PG level is not permitted.

 

Registration

  • The students admitted to a programme shall have to personally register in the programme at the college as per the schedule notified. The Registration Form and the Information Bulletin can be obtained from the office of the Dean, College of Dairy & Food Science Technology on payment of Rs. 30/- and Rs. 100/- respectively.
  • The ICAR sponsored candidates are required to obtain the Admission Form and Information Bulletin from the office of the Dean, College of Dairy & Food Science Technology on payment of Rs. 100/- in person. The completed application form should be submitted to the Dean by prescribed date along - with Rs. 30/- to be deposited in College of Dairy & Food Science Technology, Udaipur to cover the application fee.
  • Every student admitted to a programme must register for subsequent session / semester as per the notifications.
  • Registration of an admitted candidate requires the completion of certain formalities for inclusion of the candidate's name in the college roll, besides other instructions issued by the college. The registration requires that the candidate should be personally and physically present at the college and get the following done:
  • Fill up the registration form
  • Pay the Fees.
  • Submit the original certificates and get them verified by the office.
  • Schedule cards be got filled up and after the signature of Head / Major advisor submit it to be Dean's office (For P.G. Students).
  • If a student fails to register in any semester before completion of the programme, his/her name will be removed from the college roll except where provision for withdrawal by permission exists.
  • If a freshly admitted candidate fails to get himself / herself registered on the due date without prior permission of Dean of the College, his/her admission will be canceled. He/she may, under very special circumstances, be permitted to register subject to the approval of the vice-chancellor and the availability of seat after realizing a fine of Rs. 50/-, but not later than one week from the expire of registration date.
  • If a candidate freshly admitted to a programme seeks prior permission from the Dean of the College to register late, he/she may be permitted to do so within one week of the expiry of the date of registration with a fine of Rs. 20 per day. No further chance will be given to him/her.
  • If a continuing student fails to register on the scheduled date, the Dean of the College may permit him/her to register with a late fee of Rs. 20/- per day for first 4 days, Rs. 50/- per day for next 3 days, Rs 100/- per day for next 3 days. No registration will normally be done after this period.
  • Migration certificate should be submitted within a week of the date of registration for enrollment in the University.

 

Foreign Students

  • Foreign students are normally admitted under the category of ICAR nominee. No self-financing foreign student shall be given admission unless their case is supported by the Govt. of India, International organization, respective Govt. and approved by the Govt. of India or Indian Council of Cultural Relations or ICAR.
  • Foreign students sponsored / nominated through ICAR OR ANY OTHER AGENCIES MENTIONED ABOVE SHALL BE REQUIRED TO pay institutional economic fee of US Dollar 200 per month or US Dollar 2000 per year per candidate in addition to the normal fees charged by the College / University from Indian students.
  • Foreign students must have valid passport and visa before they can be given admission.
  • They must get themselves registered with the police (C.I.D.) within a fortnight of their arrival.
  • They should also register with the 'Foreign Students' Advisor and S.W.O. of the University.
  • All foreign students must get themselves medically checked by the nearest Civil Surgeon / Supt. of district hospital at their own expenses and the certificate in a particular Performa available from the concerned colleges be submitted before they can be admitted.
  • All foreign students (fresh and returning from abroad) must get themselves screened for the disease AIDS (Acquired Immunity Deficiency Syndrome) at their own cost and submit screening certificate from authorized medical officer before they can be considered for admission to any class. Facilities for AIDS test are available at Ahmedabad, Delhi Bombay and other centers.
  • If a student is found unfit due to any disease, other then AIDs, he shall be declared temporarily unfit and can continue studies subjects to university regulations. A student with confirmed AIDS disease will have to return to his country.

College of Technology and Engineering

General Information           

Admission in B.E. programme is made as per the State government policy through a common entrance examination known as State Level Pre Engineering Test (RPETEAP) which is applicable for admission in other engineering colleges of the State also. The seats are also reserved for AIEEE students from other states. The admission on 8 seats in the Agricultural Engineering discipline is made by ICAR through All India Joint Entrance Test. The M.E. admission is made on the basis of All India GATE score.  The admissions to Ph.D. programmes are made on the basis of merit/interview.  The academic session of studies is from July to June.
The number of students admitted in each class shall be according to the intake capacity fixed by the university as per requirement of the State from time to time.

Entrance Test for Admission to Under Graduate Programme

(a) The candidates, other than nominees of ICAR, will have to appear in State Level Pre-Engineering Test conducted by the Centralized Admission Committee, as notified by the Govt. of Rajasthan for admission to Engineering Colleges in Rajasthan.
(b) Admission form for State Level Pre-Engineering Test can be obtained from the Coordinator of test. It can also be obtained from other colleges whenever notified in news papers.
(c) The State Level Co-ordinator will also make admissions on seats reserved for AIEEE.

 

The admission in B.E. (Ag) for 8 seats is made through Admission Test conducted by ICAR at National Level against seats allotted to ICAR.

 

Candidates of the other states sponsored/ nominated by the ICAR for admission to B.E. (Ag.) must fulfil the following conditions:

  • Must have passed the Senior School Examination conducted by a statutory Board of 12 years study under 10+2 pattern of Secondary Education with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects or any  other  examination recognized equivalent.
  • Must have obtained at least 60% or more marks in the aggregate at the said examination and in the relevant group (Phy, Chem & Maths) of subject prescribed for admission or passed ICAR entrance test.
  • The admission of the students nominated by ICAR after commencement of the session, can be   done with the condition that the students will be able to complete 75% of the attendance requirement and course contents, otherwise the admission will be denied.

 

Post Graduate Programme

The admission form with full details for admission to M.E. and Ph.D. programmes can be obtained from the office of the Dean of the college or through college websites on payment of Rs. 500/-in person, (Rs.50/- extra as postal charges if demanded by post) through Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Dean of the College. Remittance by P.O./M. O. is not accepted.

The completed application form along with a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 500/- drawn in favour of the Dean, CTAE, Udaipur, should be sent before the last date prescribed for the receipt of the application. 

The new applicants shall, besides remitting the application fee, attach attested copies of the following documents with the application form:

  • Mark sheet/Transcript of the qualifying examination.
  • Transfer Certificate from the Institution last attended.
  • Certificate of character from the Head of the Institution last attended.
  • Relevant documents necessary for claiming reservation, concessions, exemptions etc.

The students migrating from other Universities will submit a migration certificate in original after the confirmation of admission. They will have to submit the original certificates for verification on their joining the institution. The duration of M.E. and Ph. D. (by course work) will be four and six semesters respectively. Candidates, if called for an interview, will have to bear their own travel and other expenses.

Preparation of merit list

For admission to PG Programme, from amongst the eligible candidates, merit list is prepared in order of preferential categories and call letters issued to those who stand a chance of admission.
Candidates on being formally admitted shall deposit fees by the date and time fixed for the purpose.  Non-deposition of fees on or before the due date will automatically cancel his/her admission and next student from the merit list will be offered the seat.


Number of Seats

The intake capacity for admission to first year of B.E. (Agriculture) Programme is 55 (including 8 seats for nominee of ICAR), B. E. (Computer Science & Engineering) - 40, B.E. (Electrical) - 40, B.E. (Mechanical) - 40, B.E. (Mining) - 20, B.E. (Electronics & Communication) – 40, B.E. (Information Technology) - 60 and B. E. (Civil) – 40.
The discipline-wise seats for M.E. & Ph.D. programme are as follows:

Subsequent Admission to Higher classes

The students who are on the rolls of the college for a year or more can seek admission to the next higher class of a programme of study. He/she should make an application on the prescribed form for continuing their studies, as per academic rules.

Registration

  • Each student will be required to register himself at the beginning of the academic session by deposition of fee for the college and hostel.  The date for registration will be at the beginning of the session as notified by the Dean.
  • Late Registration : Registration will be done with late fee for old students with fine @ of Rs. 100/- per day for first 4 days only, later their names will be struck off from the college.

Note:   The students admitted through centralized admission will have to register in time as notified at the time of counseling.


Admission of Diploma Students in Degree Programme

  •  The student who passes three year Diploma from Board of Technical Education, Rajasthan and secures minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST/OBC 55%) will be eligible for admission to Second Year BE of the branch of his/her study.  The admission will be made through State Level Centralized Admission Committee.
  • The students with 3 years diploma in relevant branch of engineering shall be required to undergo a regular course of study in BE II, III and final year in the branch. 
  • The number of seats in each branch is 10% of total intake capacity of B.E. I Year in respective branches.

 

Change of Branch after Passing B. E. I Year

  • The change of branch will be allowed strictly on the basis of merit obtained by a student in B. E. First year examination (without any back paper) conducted by the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology, Udaipur as per rules approved by the academic council from time to time.
  • The decision of the Dean CTAE, Udaipur in this case will be final and binding on all concerned.


Rules for Admission of Foreign Students

  • The various Govt. Agencies can utilize the seats reserved under nomination,
    i.e. Ministry of External Affairs/Rehabilitation/ Education/ICAR/other states and union territories.
  •  For nomination the university may enter into a bilateral arrangement with other states or Govt. of India directly or through ICAR.
  • Nominees will be admitted to the course of studies subject to their fulfilling the minimum admission requirements.
  • The students will have to submit in original AIDS Screening certificate issued by an authorized medical officer before admission to any of the programmes in this institution. Those who are already enrolled, but have been outside India, will also be required to submit AIDS Test report at the time of their return to institution.
  • 3 seats in each branch of engineering is reserved for NRI (The candidate himself/herself has to be NRI as defined in Income Tax 1961).  They will be required to pay higher fee from their NRI account in foreign currency.

  • Applicants who supress or give wrong information/facts or put forge signature of their parents in the application forms or attach false certificate will forfeit their admission in addition to any other punishment, which may be awarded to them.
  • Detention of candidate due to shortage of attendance at undergraduate level will not be treated as failure for the purpose of re-admission in the institution except for B.F.Sc. part-I where a student if detained due to shortage of attendance shall have to take fresh admission through J.E.T./Open merit

  • Foreign students sponsored through ICAR will be required to pay institutional affiliation per year per candidate Rs. 2500/- and Rs. 3500/- for a faculty fellow of the institute.

 

.General Admission Procedure

  • Bonafide domicile certificate, wards of employees in the State government / State University/Central Government but posted in Rajasthan, shall have to produce a certificate from the Head of the Office/ Institute to consider his/ her domicile status.
  • Physical fitness certificate from Registered Medical Practitioner.
  • Employer’s certificate for wards of Government employees.

 

Reservation and Concessions

There are seats reserved for SC, ST, Physically/ disabled person and ICAR nominees in B.F.Sc. and M.F.Sc. programmes as per Government of Rajasthan Policy.

 

Minimum Requirement for Admissions:

B.F.Sc.
Admission for B.F.Sc. 1st year is done through J.E.T.(Joint Enterance Test). However, for this year(2010-2011) addmissions will be made through open merit. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in this test is that the candidate must have passed 12th of the 10+2(Academic) scheme of examination with PCB/PCBM/PCM/Agriculture stream of the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or an examination declared equivalent to it with prescribed percentage of marks mentioned in the admission notification.

 

M.F.Sc.
M.F.Sc.(Aquaculture) is a 2 – Years PG Programme.At Present B.F.Sc. degree holders are eligible for admission to this course. The intake capacity for this course is 6+4. 4 seats are payment seats@15000/Semester and regular university Fee). Addmissions will be made through open merit.

 

Preparation of Merit List

B.F.Sc. Part-I

  • A Combined merit list for all the colleges will be prepared in order of merit for each category on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the JET. However, for this year (2010-2011) addmissions will be made through open merit.
  • From the merit list, the availibility of seats will assign the applicants to the colleges.If the applicant refuses to join the college, his/her admission may be cancelled.

 

M.F.Sc.

  • The admissions to M.F.Sc. (Aquaculture) will be done strictly on the basis merit list on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidate eligible for direct admission will be admitted at on the basis of the merit list.
  • The admission to the subject will be done according strictly as per his/ her merit.
  • A candidate will be considered for admission only in the choice of subjects mentioned in his/ her application and according to his/ her preference. His/her application will be rejected if seats in all his/ her choice subjects are filled up.
  • If a student fails to report up to 7 days from the prescribed date, his / her admission will stand cancelled.

Home Science

Prospectus

The prospectus with application forms can be obtained from the Registrar, MPUAT, Udaipur, personally on payment of Rs. 1000/- in cash at the counter or by post by sending a bank demand draft from a Nationalized Bank for Rs. 1100/- drawn in favor of Comptroller, MPUAT Udaipur, payable at Udaipur, 313001 (Rajasthan). The candidate should carefully study the admission rules and make sure that he/she fulfills the prescribed qualifications.

The students who seek admission in the college shall have to procure the application form and university prospectus in the final counseling / interview scheduled by the university. The candidates should detach and submit the dully filled application form at the time of registration.

 

Mode of Admission

B.Sc. Programme

B.Sc. (Home Science) Honours: Admission is done through Joint Entrance Test (JET) conducted by the University at the time and place mentioned by the Coordinator appointed by the Vice Chancellor. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in the test is 10+2 examination with Science / Home Science Group / Agriculture of the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan or an examination declared equivalent to it with 50% marks in the said exam. Only female candidates are eligible.

 

The candidates securing 75% or more marks in Rajasthan Board / CBSE may be admitted directly in the faculty, subject to the conditions that the candidate is a bonafied student of Rajasthan and has passed Senior Secondary Examination from Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan Ajmer or CBSE centre in Rajasthan. These seats will be over and above the normal seats for which admissions are made through JET examination.

 

M.Sc. Programme

Admission is done through a competitive Pre-Post Graduate test conducted by University at the time and place announced by the Coordinator appointed by Vice Chancellor. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in this test is B.Sc. Degree in Home Science with 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA for General and 5.50/10 SC/ST candidates. Only female candidates are eligible.

 

Ph.D. (by Course Work)

Admission to the Ph.D. Programme will be done in first semester of the academic session on the basis of merit/interview through open advertisement. The Candidate must have a minimum overall grade point average (OPGA) of 7.00 on 10.00 point scale or equivalent percentage of marks at Master's degree in the concerned subject. For SC/ST candidates, the OGPA requirement is 6.50/10.00. All eligible candidates shall be interviewed by a committee constituted by the Dean of the College under her Chairmanship, which shall prepare the merit lists for admission in each subject. Eighty percent weightage shall be on academics and 20% on interview.

 

Counseling/interview(s)

All the candidates selected for admission to UG and PG programmes will be required to complete all the formalities for the admission including the payment of the required fees as and when they are allotted the seat during the counseling. ICAR listed students are also given admission.

 

Note: Candidates coming for counseling/interview should come prepared with the required fee in the form of a demand draft from any nationalized bank drawn in favor of Comptroller, MPUAT Udaipur, drawn at Udaipur ; failing which their seats will be cancelled and allotted to the next eligible candidate.

 

Reservations of seats

For admission to various programmes, the reservation for different categories shall be as under:

  • Scheduled Caste candidates 16 %
  • Scheduled Tribe candidates 12 %
  • Other Backward caste 21 %
  • ICAR Seats 15 % for B.Sc. and 25 % for M.Sc. Home Science through national level entrance test conducted by ICAR
  • Physically handicapped, defense killed and Ex-service man. 3%

 

Admission of foreign students

Foreign students are normally admitted under the category of ICAR nominee or through a bilateral arrangement with the University, if any.

  • No self-financing foreign student will be given admission. They shall be supported either by Govt. of India, International Organization, their respective Government and approved by Govt. of India (ICAR, Department of Agriculture).
  • Foreign students must have a valid passport and visa before they seek admission.
  • They should also register with the Foreign Students Advisor of the University.
  • They must themselves register with the Police (CID) within a fortnight of their arrival at the campus .
  • All foreign students must get themselves medically checked by the nearest Civil Surgeon/Surgeon/Supdt. of District Medical hospital at their own expenses and the certificate in a particular proforma available from the College be submitted before they can be admitted.
  • All foreign students (fresh or returning from abroad) must get themselves screened for the AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes) at their own cost and submit screening certificate from an authorized Medical Officer before they can be considered for admission to any class.
  • If the student is found unfit due to any disease other than AIDS, he shall be declared temporarily unfit and can continue studies subject to University regulations. A student with confirmed AIDS disease will have to return to his country.

 

Registration

A candidate selected for admission shall report to the college on the prescribed date and pay her fees of admission and get herself registered within the period notified to her. If a candidate fails to get herself registered with in this period, the Dean under very special circumstances, subject to the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and also on availability of seat, register her after realising the fine as per rules. Students already enrolled in a programme of study will be required to fill up every year application forms for subsequent years for registration.

 

Note: The fees can be increased or decreased as per University regulations at the time of registration.

 

General Admission Procedure

College of Horticulture and Forestry

General Information

  • Admission to B.Sc. Horticulture and Forestry and M. Sc. Horticulture programme is done through a competitive examination (JET and Pre P.G. test) for which an application has to be submitted to the COE, MPUAT, Udaipur whenever requisitioned through a notification in news papers, circulars and displays on the notice boards.
  • Normally, the academic session is from July to June having two semesters.
  • Students whose cases of unfair means in the examinations are pending with the University can provisionally be admitted to the same class provided that, if the result committee imposes the penalty of canceling the present examination, the provisional admission will stand cancelled.
  • No student shall be entitled to join more than one programme of studies concurrently.
  • New admissions at the entrance level of any programme are done at the beginning of each academic session only. However, Ph.D. admissions are done at the beginning of Second Semester.
  • Admission cannot be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right.
  • The Dean may refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason whatsoever.
  • Applicants who suppress or give wrong information/facts or put forge signature of their parents in the application forms or attach false certificate will forfeit their admission in addition to any other punishment, which may be awarded to them.
  • Detention of candidate due to shortage of attendance at undergraduate level will not be treated as failure for the purpose of re-admission in the institution except for B.Sc. Horticulture and Forestry Part-I where a student if detained due to shortage of attendance shall have to take fresh admission through J.E.T.
  • All admissions are made on the basis of merit of Joint Entrance Test.
  • Physically handicapped candidates who apply under reserved quota shall be considered for that category only even if they are eligible for admission in general quota.
  • The admission of the students who are placed on waiting and/or are nominated by any agency will be done on the promise that the students will be able to complete 75% of the attendance requirement otherwise the admission will be denied. No backlog will be carried out to the next examination and the students will have to pass the entrance test afresh to be eligible for admission.

Admission Restrictions:

  • No candidate against whom a FIR has been lodged by University or College shall be eligible for admission as a regular candidate in the College.
  • Any person, who has been convicted of a criminal offence or has been released on bail in connection with criminal offence and against whom the case is pending in a court of law, shall not be eligible for admission as a regular student in the College.
  • Any candidate who has indulged in misbehavior with any teacher or with any authority or the University shall be debarred from seeking admission.

Facilities for AIDS test are available at Delhi, Bombay, Ahmedabad and other centers.

Reservation and Concessions:

  • Reservation of 3% seats is applicable to each physically challenged, Defense killed and Ex-Service Man. The candidates admitted against these reservations shall be placed in the category to which he/she belongs i.e. General, SC, ST and OBC.
  • For the sake of admission at the entry level of B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree programmes, the applicants are divided into two major groups-General and the Reserved Category.
  • Following is the quantum of the seats reserved for different categories of candidates:

    Scheduled caste: 16%
    Scheduled tribes: 12%
    OBC: 21%
    ICAR nominees: 15%
    General: Rest of the seats.
    Girls: In all above categories category 25% seats are reserved for girl candidates.

  • Reservation quota is determined on the basis of intake capacity in a programme and in P.G. Programme on the basis of combined intake of all subjects in a faculty and not subject wise.
  • In case the reserved seats are not filled up in a particular category including that of SC/ST the unfilled seats may be transferred to general seats.
  • 15% seats in B.Sc. Horticulture and B. Sc Forestry and 25% seats in M.Sc. (Horticulture) are reserved for ICAR nominee and shall be filled up by the ICAR as per their norms.

General admission Procedure:

Admission to undergraduate and post graduate programme
B.Sc. Horticulture and B.Sc. Forestry: Admission is done through Joint Entrance Test (JET) conducted by the University at the time and place mentioned by coordinator appointed by Vice-Chancellor. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in the test is 10+2 scheme of examination with Agriculture/Science of the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or an examination declared equivalent to it with prescribed percentage of marks mentioned in the admission notification.

M. Sc. (Horticulture): Admission to M. Sc. (Horticulture) is done through a competitive Pre-Post Graduate Test conducted by entrusted Agricultural University at the time and place announced by the Controller of Examinations of the University. The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in the test is that the candidate must have passed B.Sc. (Horticulture)/ B.Sc. (Ag.) degree examination of MPUAT, Udaipur or an examination declared equivalent to with prescribed percentage of Marks/OGPA specified in the notification. Students of B.Sc. Horticulture will be given preference over the B.Sc. (Ag.).

Application for admission to each programme will be invited through notification in newspapers, circular, etc. Completed application in the prescribed forms obtainable from the competent authority mentioned in the notification on payment of specified amount through I.P.O. or D.D. should be submitted on or before the last date notified.

The new applicants shall attach attested copies of the following certificates with the application form:

  • Mark sheet/Transcript card of the last qualifying examination.
  • Transfer certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
  • A certificate of character from the Head of the Institution last attended.
  • Certificate of bonafied domicile of Rajasthan.
  • Wards of employees in the State Government/State University/Central Government but posted in Rajasthan, shall have to produce a certificate from the Head of the Office/Institute to consider his/her domicile status.
  • Other relevant documents necessary for claiming reservation, concessions, exemption, experience, etc. as required in the application form.
  • Marks sheets and certificates of all the examinations passed from secondary school examination and above.
  • Physical fitness certificate from Registered Medical Practitioner.
  • Employer’s certificate for wards of Government employees.

The application received incomplete in any respect will not be considered.
The admitted students will have to submit the original certificate/documents for verification on their joining the Institution.
Candidates if called for an interview will have to bear their own expenses. If a candidate fails to attend the interview, he/she forfeits his/her claim for admission even if his/her rank in the merit is high.
Admission of in-service candidate of this University will be done according to the existing rules available in the office.
Admission committee for each programme will notify the list of admitted candidates according to the merit list prepared for each category form amongst the eligible candidates. It will also notify the date of registration, name of college and subject assigned to each candidate.

Direct Admission (Merit basis) in under graduate programme:
Students are also admitted directly to UG programme on the basis of merit. An advertisement in newspaper is made from college and students has to deposit their form and mark sheet to college and than merit is made as per reservation policy of government. Presently there are 20 seats in B.Sc (Horticulture) for direct admission. The fees for direct admission is Rs. 25000.00 per year extra than the regular fees of the college.

Admission Of Continuing Students

  • Students will be required to submit an application in the prescribed form for admission to subsequent semester/class of the programme on or before schedule date. The students who are to appear at the supplementary examination shall also submit their application in the prescribed form for provisional admission and registration to next highest class by the last date fixed for the purpose.
  • Students whose cases of unfair means in the examination are pending with the University can provisionally be admitted to the same class (wherever this provision exists) provided that if the results committee imposes the penalty of canceling more than the present examination, the provisional admission will stand cancelled.
  • Migration of students from other Universities in the middle of a programme at either UG or PG level is not permitted.

Registration

  • The students admitted to a programme shall have to personally register in that programme at the college as per the schedule notified. The Registration Form and the Information Bulletin can be obtained from the office of the Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry on payment of Rs. 30/- and Rs.100/- respectively.
  • The ICAR sponsored candidates are required to obtain the Admission Form and Information Bulletin from the office of the Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry on payment of Rs. 100/- in person. The completed application form should be submitted to the Dean by prescribed date along with a crossed I.P.O. of Rs. 30/- payable to the Dean, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Jhalawar to cover the application fee.
  • Every student admitted to a programme must register for subsequent session/semester as per the notifications.
  • Registration of an admitted candidate requires the completion of certain formalities for inclusion of the candidate’s name in the college roll, besides other instructions issued by the college. The registration requires that the candidate should be personally and physically present at the college and get the following done:  
    (a) Fill up the registration form
    (b) Pay the fees.
    (c) Submit the original certificates and get them verified by the office.
    (d) Schedule cards be got filled up and after the signature of Head/Major advisor submit it to the Dean’s office (For P.G. students).
  • If a student fails to register in any semester before completion of the programme, his/her name will be removed from the college roll except where provision for withdrawal by permission exists.
  • If a student is permitted to register late in the semester, the maintenance of the minimum attendance requirement from the normal date of the registration will be the responsibility of the student himself/ herself. He/ she would, therefore, ascertain before hand about the possibility of maintaining the minimum attendance requirement before registration. He/ she will not be given any benefit due to late registration done on any ground whatsoever.
  • If a freshly admitted candidate fails to get himself/ herself registered on the due date without prior permission of Dean of the College, his/ her admission will be cancelled. He/ she may, under very special circumstances, be permitted to register subject to the approval of the Vice-Chancellor and availability of seat after realizing a fine of Rs. 50/- but not later than 4 days from the expiry of registration date.
  • If a freshly admitted/ a continuing student to a programme seeks prior permission from the Dean of the College to register late, he/ she may be permitted to do so within 4 days of the expiry of the date of registration with a fine of Rs. 50/- per day. No further chance will be given to him/her.
  • Migration certificate should be submitted within a week of the date of registration for enrollment in the University.
