Among
the evaluated four types of animal drawn weeding
tools viz, indigenous plough, CIAE multipurpose
tool frame, three tyne cultivator and blade harrow,
the multipurpose tool bar was found to be most
efficient weeding tool.
The matching camel drawn implements viz.,
improved bakhar, bund former, disc harrow, three
tyne cultivator and single action disc harrow,
developed at CTAE, Udaipur were tested at north west
region of Rajasthan. Among them the bund former,
improved bakhar and three tyne cultivator were found
efficient and were demanded by the farmers for their
use.
Three tyne cultivator with sweep blade
attachment and double blade harrow (ten piece each)
were fabricated at CTAE, Udaipur and given to
farmers for interculture operations in maize. The
advantage of higher field capacity and reduced
labour requirement were observed in comparison with
indigenous plough. However to use this implement the
sowing of crop has to be done in rows with the help
of a planter.
The 1.2 meter self propelled vertical conveyor
reaper was tested for harvesting of wheat and it
was found highly satisfactory and liked by the
farmers. |
 |
Rotavator a new tillage implement, which
combines both primary and secondary tillage
operation, has been found most effective in making
ideal seed bed. It also helps in controlling the
weeds and creates an ideal soil mulch for kharif
crops in dry land farming. |

A
maize dehuskercum Sheller was improved for its
operational features, having capacity to dehusk and
shell cobs in single pass. The machine consists of a
cylinder with square tooth, a concave blower, hopper
and discharge outlets for kernels and cob heart and
sheath. Its capacity is 800 kg/hr. The cost of
machine is about Rs.25, 200/- Government of India
has declared a subsidy of 25 per cent on this
machine. Twelve number of proto types were
fabricated and supplied under UNDP for field trials. |
 |
Garlic bulb breaker with 800 kg/hr capacity and
92.38 per cent efficiency has been developed. The
machine is quite handy and need one hp single phase
motor for its operation. The blower facility removes
all foreign unwanted materials and provides cleaned
cloves. |

Buffalo: An elite herd of Surti buffaloes have
been established having average production potential
of 1859.21 + 70. 84 kg/lactation milk yield and
10.23 + 0.17 kg peak yield. A total of 31538
farmer’s buffaloes were bred through University
network and obtained 9154 pregnancies in the field.
The test progeny produced 198 kg more milk than base
population during first lactation. |
 |
Goat:
Characterization of Sirohi goats with respect to
morphological traits, body weights and measurements,
body face, ear, udder, leg, horn, production and
reproduction traits have been made over 6345 animals
including base line information on family status,
management practices, feeding system, body weight
and body measurement, livestock holding, population
trend and socio-economic status. |
